MESSAGE NOTES
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” {Matthew 11:29-30}
Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life. {Proverbs 4:23}
1: WE ARE MADE UP OF HEART, MIND, BODY, AND SOUL
Jesus answered, “The most important is Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. {Mark 12:29-30}
2: EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL HEALTH GO HAND IN HAND
Husbands, in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker partner, showing them honor as coheirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. {1 Peter 3:7}
So if you are offering your gift on the altar, and there you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled with your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift. {Matthew 5:23-24}
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way. {Psalm 139:23-24}
I am the gate. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture…I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance. {John 10:9-10}

2: We’re commanded to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, and strength. Why might it be easier to focus on honoring God with our strength and mind over the heart? What are the dangers of focusing on one over the others?
