EMPOWERING OUR BUSHWICK YOUTH

What a busy summer thus far! To date we have hung 25 nets at 7 parks throughout Bushwick and Ridgewood. 

Something we've intentionally done differently is involve the youth at the parks to help in the hanging of the nets. We find this to be an important way to empower the kids. They feel a sense of pride being that they were hands on in serving their park.

I think this also helps to contribute to helping keep the nets up longer at the parks. The youth played a part in hanging the nets so they do  not want to see them torn down. I want Bushwick youth to take pride in their park and community. This is where we live, work, and play. Why not be good stewards of the resources God has blessed us with and take are of what we have?
